What is this?

This was made by one of my great grandmothers. I need to ask again which one, because I forgot since my mom told me.
I think it's really cool looking! But what is it? Okay, I know it's a baby blanket. But is it crochet?

The lines actually seem almost woven, but the border around the edge definitely looks like a crocheted one.

Anyone have any ideas. The pattern is really cool!

Looks like the seed stitch to me -- knitted, K1P1, odd or even cast on.

Almost 100% sure on that -- I knitted a TON of dish cloths when I quit smoking, and a couple of them were this stitch :)

Woot! Thanks, Amanda! Now I just have to learn to knit. hehe Great idea to refocus onto knitting when you were quitting!

Better I should suffocate under a surplus of dishcloths than from too much smoke, LOL

I'm pretty sure that it's a combination of seed stitch and slip stitches, actually. Seed stitches like what Amanda was saying, but the woven bits created by slipping a stitch two lines in a row. I can't swear to it, but that's my best guess.

Jennifer: Isn't it neat! I really liked it!

Meghan: You knitters and your codes... Didn't you tell me you liked knitting because there were only two stitches? hehehe That's okay. One day I'm going to come and camp out in your yard until you teach me to knit.
