Learn to Crochet

Okay, so as you know if you read my blog or are my friend on twitter or facebook, I'm learning to crochet. And I'm getting quite good if I do say so myself!

Since I love you all ever so much, I thought I'd share with you how I'm learning. I've linked to her before, but here are some of the basic videos that Theresa at The Art of Crochet has made. They're fantastic!

Chain

Single Crochet

Half Double Crochet

Double Crochet

Triple Crochet

Slip Knot

Magic Circle

So there are all the basic things you might need to know as your trying to complete a pattern, but I NEVER would have been able to learn by just learning the pieces. I'm not good at abstract concepts. If I can't see how something is used to put things together then honestly I couldn't care less about it.

So here is the very first thing I did. At least I think that was the first thing I did... Seems like it... Oh well, here is a fun one. :-D

Have fun!

That's the thing with crochet--there are so many stitches! Knitting only needs two. Two! There's twice as many crochet stitches, and my feeble brain cannot keep them all straight.

I am a crochet failure. (This is true--if I have videos right in front of me, I can do it, but take them away and...nothing.) It's tragic.
